Job summary

Worley is seeking a Senior Process Safety Engineer to lead process safety and fire protection activities on medium to large energy, chemical, and mining projects in Canada. Based in Calgary or Edmonton, you will deliver high-quality studies, design input, and risk assessments while mentoring junior engineers.

You will apply HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, QRA, and fire protection design philosophies, ensuring compliance with codes and Worley standards, interfacing with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer license required or eligible for registration with APEGA.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Chemical preferred, fire protection or mechanical acceptable.
• Significant experience delivering process safety and fire protection on EPC/EPCM or owner operator projects.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA, API, CSA, and local AHJ requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for core process safety and fire protection activities.
• Lead hazard analyses (HAZID/HAZOP/What-If/Bowtie) and risk assessments.
• Develop and implement fire protection philosophies and design basis documents.
• Support MOC, technical queries and deviations during project execution.
• Interface with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver safe, compliant solutions.
