Job summary

Artemis Gold Inc. in Vancouver is seeking a senior Permitting professional to lead and manage permitting initiatives across construction, expansion, operations and exploration.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 7 years’ progressive experience in permitting, with priority given to candidates with experience in permitting mines in BC.
• BC designation such as PEng, PGeo, RPBio strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or combination of education and experience in mining regulatory approvals and compliance programs.
• Knowledge of BC and Canadian environmental assessment legislation and related acts is an asset.
• Understanding of technical processes in mining operations and environmental mitigation measures is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead permitting initiatives for construction/expansion, operations and exploration.
• Work with mine site team to identify amendments required for existing permits.
• Identify permits or amendments for mine optimization and future development phases.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs while maintaining environmental performance.
• Lead engagement with Indigenous Nations on permitting and relevant matters.
• Participate on committees with First Nations and government regulators.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments such as community/Indigenous relations and mine-site teams.
• Foster and maintain relations with regulators at provincial and federal levels.
