Job summary

Eldorado Gold Saskatchewan | Foran is seeking a Senior Metallurgist to lead the metallurgical team at the McIlvenna Bay site on a 14/14 rotation. The role focuses on optimizing processing, improving recovery and product quality, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will oversee test work, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration with Mining, Engineering, and Operations to meet production targets and drive continuous improvement in a high-stakes mining environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or related field.
• 6+ years’ experience in mineral processing with leadership growth.
• Registered or eligible for P.Eng in Saskatchewan.
• Strong knowledge of processing operations including recovery and concentrate production.
• Proven ability to lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with modeling, data tools, and plant control systems.
• Excellent communication, organization, and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the metallurgical team to support technical performance and growth.
• Optimize processing to improve recovery, throughput, and product quality.
• Oversee metallurgical test work, troubleshooting, and metallurgical accounting.
• Monitor data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Collaborate with Mining, Engineering, and Operations to align plant performance with targets.
• Assess new technologies and process improvements.
• Manage resources to support production and quality goals.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management.
• Contribute to long-term metallurgical project planning.
• Provide operational support to Mill Supervision as required.
