Job summary

Mercer Mass Timber, part of Mercer International, seeks a Scheduling Manager for the Okanagan Falls, BC facility. Translate sales orders and engineering specs into optimized production schedules for CLT and glulam manufacturing, coordinating between project management, procurement, and operations to meet on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in production planning, strong ERP and Excel skills, and a track record in managing complex make-to-order environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum 5+ years in production planning, scheduling, or operations management in a custom manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading scheduling teams and cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with mass timber or engineered wood is a plus.
• Strong ERP and Excel skills; familiarity with BIM/CAD is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, maintenance, and execution of the master production schedule for CLT and glulam operations at the Okanagan Falls facility.
• Coordinate between Project Management, Engineering, Procurement, and Operations to align materials with production timelines.
• Analyze capacity and workloads; adjust schedules to prevent delays and optimize resources.
• Use ERP systems to manage BOMs, WIP, and shop drawings; maintain production data accuracy.
• Collaborate with project and distributor sales teams to ensure material availability and timely supply.
• Monitor daily performance against schedule; generate monthly reports on output and forecasts.
• Drive lean scheduling initiatives to reduce lead times and waste; promote continuous improvement.
• Oversee workload distribution; set goals; conduct performance reviews; develop staff.
