Job summary

Canada Post / Postes Canada in Rivière du Loup is seeking a Supervisor, Operations Relief to oversee mail delivery and processing on an assigned shift, guiding carriers, RSMCs and CUS.

You will set daily priorities, monitor performance, promote safety, manage staffing, and coordinate with union representatives to apply the collective agreement.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 14:00–22:00, with potential for extension; term is two years with possible extension or permanency.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience managing a team OR Minimum 2 years’ experience working within a unionized environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., understand the major features of each software application).

Responsibilities

• Supervises the mail delivery and mail processing operations within a Local Area on a relief basis.
• Sets daily priorities to ensure deadlines and service commitments are met and monitors delivery and scanning exceptions.
• Promotes safety programs, coaches staff on safe practices and handles health and safety issues as required.
• Manages human resources processes such as staffing, performance management, attendance, and liaises with union representatives.
• Estimates workloads, assigns staff, and coordinates with support groups to optimize operations.
