Job Title: Lead Line Cook
Location: B Star Bar.
Job Type: Full-Time.
Reports to: Head Chef.

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Line Cook to join our culinary team. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, particularly during peak hours. The ideal candidate is an experienced cook with strong leadership abilities, excellent time management, and a commitment to maintaining the highest food quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervision: Lead, train and direct line cooks; maintain an efficient workflow.
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and quality standards.
  • Quality Control: Monitor food for taste, appearance, and consistency to ensure high-quality presentation.
  • Efficiency: Oversee the line to ensure timely execution of orders, especially during high-volume service.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with the head chef and kitchen team to foster a supportive and productive work environment.
  • Food Safety: Enforce proper food handling, sanitation, and storage protocols in compliance with health regulations.
  • Inventory & Ordering: Assist with inventory tracking, food ordering, and stock rotation as needed.
  • Problem-Solving: Quickly address and resolve issues that arise during service.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a line cook or similar role, with strong cooking techniques and kitchen knowledge.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to supervise and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Keen attention to detail and commitment to quality control.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 60 pounds).
  • Ability to withstand high temperatures in a kitchen environment.

Working Conditions:
  • Fast-paced kitchen environment with exposure to heat, steam, and noise.
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required.

Salary and Benefits:
  • $25-28/hr (including tips).
  • Benefits may include MRA (medical reimbursement account), up to 50% coverage for employer sponsored health insurance, free meal per day.
