Job summary

Worley is seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Controls engineer to lead deliverables for customer projects and operating facilities. You will develop control narratives, FDS, and I/O lists, and support DCS, SIS, and HMI/SCADA systems across North America.

The role requires 10+ years in industrial controls and strong documentation skills. You will collaborate with operations and engineering teams, perform system upgrades and migrations, and travel up to 25% to support projects and startup

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Computer, Process Control, or related Engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility is preferred.
• Minimum 10+ years of industrial controls and automation experience.
• Hands-on experience producing control narratives, functional design specifications, cause‑and‑effect matrices, instrument indexes, I/O lists, logic diagrams, loop drawings, alarm management documentation, test procedures, and commissioning documentation.
• Strong understanding of process control principles, alarms, interlocks, regulatory control strategies, and safety systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, review, and implementation of I&C engineering deliverables for customer projects and operating facilities.
• Prepare and maintain I&C engineering documentation including control narratives, FDS, cause-and-effect matrices, instrument indexes, I/O lists, and PLC/DCS logic diagrams.
• Support and maintain plant control systems, DCS platforms, SIS, HMI/SCADA applications, and industrial networks.
• Execute control strategy modifications, logic changes, graphics development, and system troubleshooting.
• Work with customer operations and engineering personnel to identify and resolve process control issues.
• Participate in control system upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management activities.
• Travel up to 25% to support customer projects across North America.
