Job summary

The State Group Automation is hiring an experienced Controls Engineer to join our North America team. You will work on high-impact automation projects, travel to customer sites in Canada and the USA, and support electrical and software design, start-up, debugging, and commissioning of PLC controls.

We value hands-on experience in automotive, manufacturing, and supply chain environments, plus Siemens/TIA Portal or Allen-Bradley expertise and a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Controls Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of PLCs and HMIs.
• Experience with Automotive, Supply Chain, or Manufacturing industries.
• Amazon project experience is an asset.
• Siemens/TIA Portal or Allen Bradley experience.
• Extensive commissioning experience.
• Ability to travel to customer sites across Canada and the USA.
• Valid passport and driver's license.
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada or qualify for work authorization under the CUSMA Professionals category.

Responsibilities

• Promote and comply with all safety standards.
• Collaborate effectively with customers, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Support electrical and software design as needed.
• Optimize cycle times and improve throughput.
• Maintain customer relationships.
• Assist with electrical and software design when required.
• Start-up, debugging, and troubleshooting of PLC controls at Build Shop and customer sites.
• Throughput enhancement at customer sites.
