We are looking for a Lead HVAC Technician for our facility in Peterborough, Ontario.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, inspect, and maintain HVAC systems in accordance with all relevant standards and regulations.
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems to minimizedowntime and ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting components to extend equipment lifespan.
  • Perform routine facilities maintenance tasks relating to plumbing, carpentry etc.
  • Provide back-up and assistance to technicians on the shop floor.
  • Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to implement system upgrades, modifications, and new installations.
  • Utilize technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to effectively troubleshoot and address HVAC issues.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, ensuring a secure working environment and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment condition for documentation and reporting purposes.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior technicians as needed.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and be self-directed.
  • Ability to make decisions within prescribed boundaries of job function.
  • Ability to work shifts and weekends as required.
  • Identify safety issues and problems, take appropriate corrective action and monitor the corrective action.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an HVAC program or apprenticeship is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a licensed HVAC Technician, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, controls, and components.
  • Experience with service and maintenance of low pressure, gas fired boiler systems.
  • Experienced and knowledgeable, with Industrial Plumbing maintenance.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, including blueprints, manuals, and specifications.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in industrial environments, including confined spaces and heights.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

The pay range for this position in Ontario is expected to be between $83,164.12 and $107,678.03per year. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, retirement, and / or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment and are subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
