Job summary

Germain Hotels in Toronto is seeking a spirited Team Lead Host or Hostess to welcome guests and lead the front-of-house team with warmth and professionalism.

You will manage reservations through OpenTable, coordinate private dining, handle guest inquiries by phone and email, monitor online reviews, and support leadership with VIP reports and guest communications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Restaurant experience is an asset.
• Strong stress and pressure management.
• Good physical condition: standing for long periods.
• Positive, trustworthy attitude and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Reservations & Guest Experience: Manage daily reservation book and optimize seating.
• Coordinate VIP arrivals, special occasions, and guest requests.
• Private Dining Coordination: Manage bookings for private events (up to 20).
• Coordinate event details with culinary and service teams for seamless execution.
• Guest Relations & Communications: Respond to inquiries by phone and email.
• Coordinate special requests and dietary accommodations.
• Resolve guest concerns or escalate to management as needed.
• Online Reputation: Monitor and respond to reviews; share feedback with leadership.
• Leadership & Administration: Coach the host team; prepare daily VIP reports and reservations communications.

What You'll Do

• Reservations & Guest Experience
  • Manage the daily reservation book through OpenTable.
  • Optimize seating, pacing, and table availability to maximize guest experience and revenue.
  • Coordinate VIP arrivals, special occasions, and guest requests while maintaining detailed guest profiles.

Private Dining Coordination

• Manage bookings for private dining events (up to 20 guests).
• Coordinate event details with culinary and service teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Promote menu enhancements and beverage pairings where appropriate.

Guest Relations & Communications

• Manage the Punch email inbox and respond to guest inquiries by phone and email.
• Coordinate special requests, celebrations, and dietary accommodations.
• Resolve guest concerns or escalte to management when required.

Online Reputation

• Monitor and respond to Google and OpenTable reviews.
• Share guest feedback and service trends with the leadership team.

Leadership & Administration

• Support, coach, and train the host team.
• Prepare daily VIP reports and reservation communications.
• Maintain reservation records and assist with reporting and administrative projects.

The hourly rate for this role is 20,00$ in alignment with internal equity.
