WSP is seeking a Lead Highway Design Technician in British Columbia to drive highway and transportation infrastructure design using Civil 3D. You will lead design production teams, mentor juniors, and coordinate inputs across disciplines to deliver safe, resilient solutions.

You will apply industry standards, review complex models, and engage with clients to ensure quality and efficiency while supporting field reviews and occasional site visits.

Formación

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering Design, or a related discipline.
• Extensive experience delivering highway, roadway, or transportation infrastructure projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, including corridors, alignments, profiles, grading, surfaces, and quantity take-offs.
• Demonstrated experience leading design production teams and coordinating technical deliverables across disciplines.
• Strong knowledge of transportation design standards and drafting best practices; familiarity with BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit standards.
• Proven ability to review, troubleshoot, and optimise complex design models and construction drawing packages.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with clients and teams.
• Commitment to health, safety, quality, and continuous improvement, including field reviews and site visits when required.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the development and delivery of highway, roadway, and transportation infrastructure designs using Civil 3D and industry best practices.
• Produce and oversee high-quality design models, drawings, plan/profile packages, corridors, grading, and quantity calculations for complex projects.
• Collaborate with engineers, planners, environmental specialists, and project managers to deliver integrated transportation solutions.
• Champion technical excellence by establishing and maintaining design quality standards across project teams.
• Guide and mentor junior designers and technicians, supporting knowledge sharing and professional growth.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design inputs to support successful project delivery from planning through construction.
• Apply innovation and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project efficiency, consistency, and client outcomes.
• Contribute to meaningful infrastructure projects that improve mobility, safety, sustainability, and community connectivity.
