Job summary

WesTower Communications Ltd. seeks an experienced Heavy Plow Foreperson to lead the operation of large plow trains for long-haul fiber placement projects.

You will orchestrate lead dozers, plow units, and support vehicles to optimize production while preventing cable damage. Responsibilities include route scouting, safety leadership, equipment maintenance, and meticulous documentation in challenging rural environments.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years of utility construction experience with heavy plow operations.
• Valid Ground Disturbance Level II certification.
• Ability to read long-haul construction prints and crossing profiles.
• Physically fit for rugged terrain and outdoor work in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Directs the coordinated movement of the plow train, ensuring equipment operates in unison to maximize production while preventing cable damage.
• Scout ROW ahead of the train to identify terrain hazards, water crossings, and access points.
• Lead toolbox meetings and enforce safety zones and spotter protocols.
• Coordinate the feed of the plow train, cable reel delivery, fuel, and support equipment to minimize downtime.
• Monitor plow depth and ground conditions to ensure installation meets specifications and restoration is completed.
• Review utility locates and crossing agreements with due diligence due to high-risk ground disturbance.
• Oversee daily maintenance and greasing of wear parts, identifying issues before failures.
• Complete daily production reports and equipment logs to ensure accurate documentation.
