Job summary

WesTower Communications Ltd. seeks an experienced Foreperson to lead on-site wireline construction crews across Western Canada. You will organize daily activities, supervise drills, and ensure work meets design specs and safety standards.

In this role, you mentor crew members, enforce safety culture, and drive production while maintaining high-quality results. Valid licenses, GD Level II, and ability to read plans are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Valid AB Class 5 driver’s license with clean abstract.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in telecommunications or shallow utility construction.
• Ground Disturbance Level II certification.
• Ability to read and interpret civil construction drawings and utilitylocates.
• Physically fit and able to bend, kneel, climb and lift up to 75 lbs.
• Willingness to travel to Western Canada.

Responsibilities

• Directs daily activities of laborers and equipment operators to meet production targets.
• Leads toolbox meetings and safety checks; enforces PPE and safety regulations.
• Interprets construction prints to install cables, vaults and conduits per specs.
• Ensures proper depths and separations of underground utilities as designed.
• Completes daily production reports, redlines/as-builts, time sheets, and equipment logs.
• Mentors entry-level crew members and maintains safety culture.
• Oversees fleet maintenance and reports issues to Construction Manager.
