Job summary

Inspiretci in Vaughan, ON is seeking a full-time lead hand in the production department to supervise 10+ machinists and metal fabricators, read complex technical drawings, and coordinate fitting, welding, and assembly processes.

The role requires strong MS Office and ERP skills, excellent attention to detail, safe work practices, and the ability to train staff and coordinate with cross‑functional teams to meet production and inventory goals.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of proven experience as a team lead or similar role, ideally supervising machine operators and Metal Fabricators
  • Experience in using various types of manufacturing machinery and tools
  • Knowledge or experience in Fitting, Metal Fabrication
  • Advanced skills in MS Office & ERP experience

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the production activities of 10+ workers engaged in machining of metals.
  • Understand fitting, assembling, and welding processes using designated jigs and fixtures.
  • Read complex technical drawings.
  • Oversee ASME parts coordination, labeling, scheduling, and assigning work.
  • Maintain ERP records and use databases for tracking parts and production data.
  • Contribute to safety meetings and enforce housekeeping standards.
  • Instructs and trains employees to diagnose manufacturing problems and improve processes.
  • Coordinate with team for on-time completion of tasks and inventory management.

Job description

We are hiring a full-time lead hand in the production department with our manufacturing client in Vaughan, ON
Position Responsibilities
  • Able to supervise and coordinate the production activities of 10+ workers engaged in the machining of metals such as copper, bronze, aluminum, and tin.
  • Have mechanical aptitude, considerable knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, methods, and standard practices of the trade, good work history and good housekeeping habits.
  • Able to understand the fitting, assembling, and welding processes using the designated jigs and fixtures.
  • Able to read complex technical drawings
  • Experience with multiple types of metal (mild steel, various stainless steel alloys (304, 316, 409, 439, etc.) and understanding of the different properties and how they relate to each other for welding, forming, etc.)
  • ASME parts coordination (overseeing receipt of parts, labelling parts, scheduling, assigning work, etc.)
  • ERP experience (strong computer skills with various types of databases & programs)
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong appreciation of the importance of completing tasks on time.
  • Write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others, and solve practical problems. Specific knowledge-based competencies are required along with safety practices and procedures.
  • Instructs and trains employees and explains tasks clearly in assisting them in solving and diagnosing difficult manufacturing problems.
  • Works well independently and within a team and has the ability to coordinate efforts with fellow co-workers.
  • Take every effort to achieve the company's goals/ objectives in service, productivity, and inventory management.
  • Actively participate and support the company's safety and security standards at all times, conduct regular safety meetings comply and maintain housekeeping standards.
  • Attend and participate in house meetings andcompany training sessions as required, further developing skills to meet the company's objectives.
Education Requirements:
  • High School Diploma; Degree in a technical, engineering or relevant field will be an asset
