Job summary

Strike Group is seeking a Lead Hand to provide on-floor leadership and continuous improvement of production processes. The role includes directing workloads, scheduling, and supervising labourers to ensure safety and productivity on site.

Responsibilities include operating heavy equipment, contributing to toolbox talks, and upholding project procedures and safety standards across multiple sites. This role offers growth within a strong Western Canada-based construction team.

Qualifications

• Current CSTS, H2S Alive, Fall Protection, AWP certifications are required.
• Strong on-site communication and safety awareness are essential.
• Ability to follow project procedures and collective agreement requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate 2–5 ton picker trucks, telehandlers, skidsteers and AWP.
• Participate in daily toolbox meetings and safety investigations.
• Complete hazard assessments, drivers logs and site assessments.
• Move equipment and materials between sites following safety protocols.
• Inform Superintendent of out-of-scope work and ensure quality inspections.
• Prepare quality reports and statistics as required.
• Maintain and service equipment and tools; report issues to lead hand.
• Support housekeeping and daily site cleanup.

Position Summary

The primary function of the Lead Hand is to provide direction, on-floor leadership and continuous improvement of the production processes, procedures, and equipment. A Strike Lead Hand provides leadership and scheduling, and coordinates, supervises and ensures the safety and productivity of their assigned labourer.

SCOPE OF WORK

• Integrity digs

Core Accountabilities

• Operate 2-5 ton picker trucks, telehandlers, skidsteers and AWP
• Participate in daily toolbox Meetings
• Participate in safety/incident investigations and reviews
• Complete Task Hazard Assessments, Drivers Logs, and review Job Site Assessments
• Manage and maintain client relationships
• Apply project procedures, work site policies and collective agreement requirements Ensure quality and inspection of installation
• Complete quality reports and required statistics
• Inform the Superintendent of any out of scope work
• Move equipment and materials between sites
• Load and unload construction materials and equipment for transporting to work locations, following applicable safety securement protocols
• Communicate work progress and safety performance to the site supervisor
• Maintain all equipment and tools in good and safe working condition and report any findings to lead hand
• Managing and performing general housekeeping and daily clean-up of work area
