Job summary

Pilot Company in Winnipeg, MB is hiring a Guest Services Associate to process merchandise and fuel transactions, leading a shift of 1–2 cashiers and ensuring fast, friendly service for every guest.

You will handle end-of-shift reports, promote products, resolve guest concerns, and help with other travel center duties, while adhering to safety, policy, and compliance standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience in retail operations.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a customer-focused culture.
  • Proficient with a calculator, computer and related equipment.
  • Ability to work with diverse team members and stakeholders.
  • Must be able to work nights, days, weekends, and holidays.
  • Background check required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a shift of 1–2 cashiers to process all cash, credit, and debit transactions.
  • Complete end-of-shift reports and close out procedures.
  • Follow guidelines on sale of restricted merchandise (e.g., alcohol, tobacco).
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area.
  • Use suggested selling methods to promote products and increase sales.
  • Ensure quality service for every guest and resolve issues per policies.
  • Determine break schedules and team member placement during shift.
  • Assist with other travel center duties (deli, restrooms, stocking, etc.).
  • Model behaviors supporting the company’s purpose and guest/team support.
  • Ensure activities comply with rules, regulations and procedures.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Job Description

The purpose of this job is to process merchandise and fuel transactions. Essential Functions include:

  • Lead a shift of one-to-two cashiers to process all types of cash, credit, and debit transactions
  • Complete end-of-shift reports and close out procedures
  • Follow company and local guidelines with regards to the sale of any restricted merchandise items (i.e., alcohol, tobacco)
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area
  • Use suggested selling methods to promote and sell products
  • Ensure quality service is delivered to every guest
  • Handle guest complaints and issues by following company processes and guidelines; resolve team member conflict; and communicate issues to management
  • Determine break schedules and team member placement during shift
  • Assist with other travel center functions such as maintaining deli, cleaning showers and restrooms, stocking, making coffee, etc.
  • Model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level
  • Ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Complete other duties as assigned

Pay Rates Starting between: $16.40 - $18.13 / hour

Qualifications
  • Previous experience or working knowledge of retail operations
  • Incredible customer service skills & the ability to help maintain a customer focused culture
  • Must be proficient with a calculator, computer, and other equipment
  • Ability to work as part of a team and interact with different levels from hourly team members, customers, vendors, and corporate representatives
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule of nights, days, weekends, and holidays
  • Background check is required
