Professional Excavators & Construction Inc. in Calgary is seeking an experienced Lead Excavator Operator to manage trenching for water and sewer projects. You will operate excavators, supervise a team, and ensure work aligns with blueprints and safety standards.

The role emphasizes leadership, strict safety compliance, and the ability to read construction drawings while coordinating day-to-day activities to meet project deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience operating excavators on water/sewer projects.
• Proven leadership experience managing a team on excavation sites.
• Strong knowledge of safety protocols and equipment regulations.
• Ability to read construction drawings and project specs.
• Valid Heavy Equipment Operator License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators and heavy machinery to dig trenches for pipelines.
• Lead a team of operators and laborers, coordinating daily activities.
• Conduct pre-operation checks and report maintenance needs.
• Read blueprints and plans to ensure accurate excavation.
• Monitor site safety and enforce regulations.
• Assist with pipeline installation and backfilling with proper compaction.
• Communicate with supervisors to ensure project objectives.
