Lead Estimator for Complex Construction Projects

Job summary

Urbacon is a Toronto-based full-service design, construction and real estate development firm. The Senior Estimator will lead major cost estimates, review bid documents, and drive budget planning and tender strategy for diverse projects.

Urbacon seeks 10+ years in progressive estimating on ICI projects, strong CCDC2/5B knowledge, and proficiency with estimating software. Office-based role at head office, five days per week.

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in progressive estimating for large ICI projects.
• Experience with general contractors or construction managers.
• Proficiency in estimating software.
• Knowledge of CCDC2 and CCDC5B tenders.
• Able to manage multiple estimates and work extra hours.

Responsibilities

• Review bid documents to identify special requirements and mitigate risks.
• Review plans and specifications in detail.
• Interpret bid submission requirements.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and develop bid strategies.
• Take-offs, schedule/price estimates, preliminary schedules, GCs.
• Prepare budgets, cost proposals and value engineering.
• Coordinate with subtrades and industry professionals.
