Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Risk Assessor to join our Toxicology and Health Risk Assessment team, based in one of our Ontario offices. You will act as a technical leader, project manager, mentor, and trusted adviser on complex contaminated site projects across Ontario and Canada.

In this senior role, you will lead risk assessments, develop risk management plans, and mentor staff while collaborating with regulators to ensure compliance, quality, and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex human health and ecological risk assessments.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario contaminated sites regulations and approvals.
• Excellent technical writing and oral communication skills.
• Ability to obtain federal reliability security clearance.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license.
• 10–15 years in environmental consulting focusing on risk assessment and RMPs.
• Experience with redevelopment projects and RSC processes is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex human health and ecological risk assessments.
• Provide senior technical oversight and review of risk assessment submissions.
• Lead the preparation of Risk Management Plans (RMPs).
• Collaborate with Site Investigation and Remediation teams on CSMs and regulatory compliance.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, quality, and client expectations.
• Mentor junior and intermediate risk staff.
• Represent clients in discussions with regulators, including MECP and other stakeholders.
