Job summary

Strum Consulting in Halifax is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical building-system designs, including power distribution, lighting, controls and life-safety systems. You will oversee calculations, review drawings, ensure code compliance, mentor junior staff and manage client relationships on a range of Atlantic Canada projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience leading complex projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
Experience supervising or mentoring engineers and technical staff is an asset.
Strong knowledge of electrical building codes and standards (e.g., NEC/Canadian codes).
Experience with multi‑unit residential, commercial, or industrial buildings.

Responsibilities

Lead electrical building-system design, including power distribution, lighting, emergency and standby power, controls and life-safety.
Review service calculations, single-line diagrams, risers, layouts and design details.
Provide senior technical review, QA, and seal documents when required.
Mentor engineers, EITs, and technologists through delegation and review.
Manage project scope, fees, budgets, schedules and staffing plans.
