Job summary

Strum Consulting in Halifax is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead electrical building-system designs, including power distribution, lighting, controls and life-safety systems. You will oversee calculations, review drawings, ensure code compliance, mentor junior staff and manage client relationships on a range of Atlantic Canada projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience supervising or mentoring engineers and technical staff is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of electrical building codes and standards (e.g., NEC/Canadian codes).
• Experience with multi‑unit residential, commercial, or industrial buildings.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical building-system design, including power distribution, lighting, emergency and standby power, controls and life-safety.
• Review service calculations, single-line diagrams, risers, layouts and design details.
• Provide senior technical review, QA, and seal documents when required.
• Mentor engineers, EITs, and technologists through delegation and review.
• Manage project scope, fees, budgets, schedules and staffing plans.
