Job summary

Stantec is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer for the Dartmouth/Moncton office to work on small to mid-sized projects autonomously and as part of larger teams under a Senior Engineer. You will evaluate, specify, and verify engineered systems, ensuring compliance with Canadian codes and industry standards.

The role involves designing electrical, communications and life-safety systems, leading specifications, and coordinating with clients and contractors.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited university.
• Eligibility for registration as a professional engineer in the local association.
• Minimum 5 years of applicable electrical design experience.
• Experience creating tender documents with drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare site plans and diagrams to describe project scope.
• Develop electrical design through sketches, models and diagrams; provide direction to junior staff.
• Evaluate and specify electrical, communications, and life-safety systems; ensure code compliance.
• Lead prep and coordination of project specifications and documents.
• Perform calculations using standard design tools and review for technical accuracy.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external consultants/owners.
