Job summary

EXP, a leading employee-owned engineering firm, seeks an Electrical Buildings Design Engineer in Halifax, Nova Scotia. You will design and manage electrical systems for educational, healthcare, and commercial facilities across Atlantic Canada.

The role requires P.Eng., a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 7+ years of relevant design experience, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, AGi32, and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Canadian Codes is essential; excellent communication is a must.

Qualifications

• P.Eng. licensed with Engineers Nova Scotia.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7+ years of experience in electrical design for building systems.
• Experience in education and healthcare electrical design is an asset.
• Familiarity with Nova Scotia market is an asset.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency with AGi32 lighting design software.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian Building Codes, Canadian Electrical Code, electrical standards, and best practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems for buildings including power distribution and essential power.
• Prepare technical specifications, feasibility studies, and design briefs.
• Conduct building condition assessments and options evaluations.
• Estimate construction costs and develop project documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate designs.
