Job summary

EBC Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer — Electrical & Controls for the Ladore seismic upgrade project in Campbell River, BC.

The role delivers engineering for electrical, controls, HVAC, fire protection and diesel generator scopes across multiple buildings and a major spillway gate upgrade. Reporting to the Project Director, the engineer coordinates subcontract activities, maintains design traceability, and leads commissioning, energization and return to service with input from owner

Qualifications

• Registered or eligible to register as a P.Eng. or EIT with EGBC.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant heavy‑industrial, utility or hydroelectric electrical construction experience.
• Experience managing electrical subcontractors and subcontracts.
• Knowledge of CSA, NFPA and related standards is an asset.
• Experience with FAT/SAT, commissioning and test documentation.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate the electrical subcontractor and interface management.
• Manage subcontract finances: payments, credits, submittals and invoices.
• Oversee submittals, shop drawings and design‑build packages.
• Raise RFIs and track technical queries with Owner's Engineer.
• Coordinate installation and testing of major electrical equipment and systems.
• Plan commissioning sequence and decommissioning of existing systems.
• Generate micro-schedules and monitor progress against the master schedule.
• Support temporary power supply and QA/QC processes.
• Coordinate multi‑discipline interfaces with civil, structural and hydro‑mechanical teams.
