Job summary

BC Hydro seeks a Specialist Project Engineer - Generation - Stations in Burnaby, BC for a 12-month contract. The role requires ten years in generation engineering, PE with EGBC, and leadership of multi-discipline design teams for hydroelectric projects.

You will lead Owner’s Engineer activities, drive scope/cost/schedule, and coordinate with stakeholders to deliver safe, high-quality designs on time. Must be able to brief senior management and navigate complex project issues.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer registered with EGBC or eligible for immediate registration.
• Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience in hydroelectric/generator projects.
• Experience leading multi-discipline design teams on generation projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead Owner’s Engineer roles and coordinate internal reviews of third-party designs.
• Manage scope, schedule and cost; identify technical risks and propose mitigations.
• Collaborate with Construction, Contract Management, Quality Management and Field Operations.
• Present to senior management on complex project matters; mentor team members.
