Reporting to the Manager, SharePoint and Power Platform Development, we are seeking a highly motivated Lead Developerto join the OMERS SharePoint and Power Platform Development team in Toronto. In this role, you will collaborate with business stakeholders, business analysts, software architects and IT professionals to support development and maintenance of Microsoft SharePoint Online and Power Platform solutions.
As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:
Collaborate closely with business and technical teams to interpret and translate requirements into technology solutions, particularly within SharePoint Online, Power Platform, and other Office 365 applications.
Analyzing business requirements related to data, reporting, workflow, business processes, hardware and operating system environments, and integrations with other systems.
Develop, test, deploy and document solutions in SharePoint Online, Power Platform and other OMERS collaboration applications.
Create customizations and configurations to SharePoint Online and Power Platform to meet business needs.
Provide support to business users for relevant applications.
Produce comprehensive technical documentation.
Offer technical advice to users and team members on best practices for SharePoint Online and Power Platform.
Conduct users training for SharePoint Online and Power Platform.
Assist with data migration planning, data clean up and data analysis as required.
To succeed in this role, you have:
Degree or diploma in computer engineering or related discipline.
5-7+ years of experience in software design and development, particularly in SharePoint Online, .NET and SQL.
4+ years of experience in SharePoint Online and Office 365 applications.
4+ years of experience in SharePoint Client Object model, PowerShell, JavaScript, TypeScript.
2+ years of experience in Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio (Power Virtual Agent).
Hands-on experience in creating custom Web Parts using SharePoint Framework (SPFx).
Proficiency in creating solutions with HTML, CSS, and JSON
Experience with Sharegate.
Familiarity with plug-ins, and UI/UX standards.
Understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps.
Demonstrated proficiency in business analysis for IT projects.
Strong initiative in improving solutions, systems and processes.
Excellent communication skills and ability to translate business needs into workflows and solutions that leverage SharePoint Online and Power Platform capabilities.
Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills, particularly with internal stakeholders.
Solid time management skills.
Ability to apply independent under minimal supervision.
