Job summary

Staples Canada is seeking a reliable delivery driver to manage next-day residential and commercial deliveries in Winnipeg. The role requires leading daily operations, coordinating with drivers, and ensuring safe, on-time deliveries using handheld scanners. You’ll train new drivers, maintain logs, and support supervisors as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license (no major moving violations).
• Driving must be in good standing.
• Math and mechanical aptitude.
• Able to navigate and read a map.
• Physically fit.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Team player with minimal supervision.
• Able to lift to 70lbs.
• 1–3 years driving experience in a service-oriented position.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Warehouse environment experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Lead transportation operation to ensure next-day deliveries.
• Support transportation supervisors with day-to-day delivery operations, load balancing and route coverage.
• Train and mentor new delivery drivers and helpers.
• Maintain log sheets for handheld devices.
• Handle all deliveries and return receipts; assist with shift coverage.
• Load, sort, and verify packages against manifests; use pallet jacks and scanners.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections; keep truck clean and in good order.
• Deliver merchandise safely to residential and commercial customers.
• Maintain open communication with supervisors and team; participate in safety training.
