Job summary

WSP Global Inc. in Canada seeks a Coring Technician with 5+ years of coring experience to lead field operations across Ontario. You will supervise crews, ensure safe delivery, develop staff, and help grow the coring division through excellent operations and client engagement.

You will lead daily field operations for geotechnical, environmental, pavement, and infrastructure projects, mentor junior staff, and ensure rigorous safety and quality standards while coordinating logistics and resources.

Qualifications

• Engineering; minimum 5 years of coring experience in concrete or asphalt coring.
• Experience leading field crews and managing project schedules.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and safe work practices.
• Experience operating coring rigs, support equipment and locating equipment is a plus.
• Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence with clean driving record.
• Ability to travel throughout Ontario and work in varying weather and site conditions.
• Experience with traffic control operations and field investigations is an asset.
• Experience in engineering consulting, construction, or environmental sectors.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily coring field operations for geotechnical, environmental, pavement, and infrastructure projects.
• Supervise and mentor junior technicians and field personnel.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with HSE standards.
• Operate and maintain coring equipment safely and efficiently.
• Plan field activities, manage resources, and coordinate project logistics.
• Communicate with Project Managers, clients, subcontractors and field staff.
• Ensure quality control and accurate documentation of field activities.
• Assist with equipment selection, maintenance planning, and fleet management.
• Identify opportunities for business growth and support proposal development.
