Job summary

The Government of Nunavut, through Nunavut Arctic College, invites applications for a Senior Instructor, Cooking Programs. You will provide leadership and oversight for apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship cooking programs across Nunavut, ensuring high-quality, industry-aligned training for adult learners.

Reporting to the Chair, Industry Training, you will manage program staff and budgets, develop curricula, and maintain accreditation.

Qualifications

Completion of a Journeyperson Cook Certificate through apprenticeship.
Ability to hold a Canadian Teaching Certificate or Adult Education Certificate.
Two years of experience teaching vocational-technical students or mentoring apprentices.
Three years of progressive industry experience in instruction.
Two years of management or supervisory experience in a team.

Responsibilities

Lead planning, coordination, and delivery of cooking programs across Nunavut.
Supervise instructors and program staff, including recruitment, performance management, and professional development.
Develop, maintain, and ensure accreditation of cook training curriculum and program materials.
Manage program budgets, contracts, financial reporting, and operational resources.
Monitor and evaluate program quality, student outcomes, and compliance with health, safety, and industry standards.
