Job summary

AgeCare in Mississauga is seeking a Cook for our long-term care residence. The role ensures meals are prepared and served on time while maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen and safe working environment.

You will oversee the Food Services staff and coordinate with the Food Services Manager to meet dietary needs and resident satisfaction. Required: prior cook experience (supervisory preferred), current provincial Safe Food Handling Certificate, and a diploma/certificate in quality food

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience as a cook is preferred.
• Current provincial Safe Food Handling Certificate.
• Public-school education minimum; high school preferred.
• Diploma/certificate in quality food preparation and production.

Responsibilities

• Check special diet orders for new admissions to ensure they are correct.
• Respond to resident or family concerns and ensure appropriate action is taken within authority.
• Direct Food Services Workers and oversee the Food Services Department operations.
