Job summary

Viva Mexico Restaurant Grill & Cantina LTD in Langley, BC is seeking a Cook who is self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills for our busy kitchen. The role requires cleaning, inventory control, menu planning, and preparing complete meals with attention to allergies and dietary needs.

You will train staff, supervise kitchen operations, and ensure strict food safety, sanitation, and quality standards while maintaining timely, delicious service for our guests.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English language.
• Secondary school graduation certificate required.
• 2–3 years of experience in a similar role preferred.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal abilities.
• Good decision making and cooking technique knowledge.
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safe handling practices.

Responsibilities

• Clean kitchen and work areas and manage inventory/records.
• Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes.
• Plan menus, portion sizes, estimate requirements and costs.
• Train staff in food prep, cooking and handling; supervise kitchen staff.
• Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, storage and safety compliance.
