Job summary

COOEC Canada Company is seeking a Commissioning Coordinator / C&S U Lead to plan, coordinate, and execute commissioning activities for large-scale oil and gas facilities in Alberta. This role works with Operations, Construction, Engineering, and Contractors to ensure a safe, efficient transition from mechanical completion through commissioning, start-up, and handover to Operations.

The successful candidate will demonstrate 15+ years of operational oil and gas experience, experience as a C&SU

Qualifications

• 15+ years of operational experience in oil and gas, with preference for SAGD facilities and heavy bitumen processing plants.
• Experience as a Commissioning & Start-Up Lead or Commissioning Coordinator on large capital projects.
• Extensive knowledge of oil and gas safety standards and safe work practices, including SWP, LOTO, gas monitoring, and hazardous energy management.
• Strong communication, coordination, planning, and leadership skills with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate commissioning activities with Operations Leads to achieve project commissioning objectives and milestones.
• Develop, implement, and execute commissioning plans for operational systems.
• Prepare and maintain commissioning, operational, and start-up procedures.
• Coordinate Mechanical Completion (MC) walkdowns to achieve timely completion of construction systems.
• Monitor and follow up on critical commissioning and construction scope to support project schedules.
• Manage the transition from Mechanical Completion to Commissioning, ensuring effective implementation of LOTO, SWP, hazardous energy management, and other safe work processes.
• Participate in and support PSSR, operational walkdowns, and system readiness assessments.
• Coordinate with Construction, Operations, Engineering, and Contractors to ensure safe and efficient commissioning activities.
• Support turnaround planning and execution by coordinating multiple contractors while maintaining safe work practices.
• Perform additional project-related duties as required to support commissioning and start-up activities.
