Job summary

Public Services and Procurement Canada is seeking candidates for a Library and Information Management role at the LS-03 level in Ottawa, Ontario. The successful candidate will apply library science principles, cataloguing expertise, and government information management practices to support public service delivery.

Knowledge of AACR2, RDA, MARC, and library classification, along with experience with government publications and Microsoft Suite, are considered assets.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the theories, principles, trends or standards of library science and information management.
• Knowledge of the principles of cataloguing, classification, or resource description, like the application of recognized standards, tools, and classification systems (e.g. AACR2, RDA, MARC, Government of Canada Classification, Library of Congress Classification, Dewey Decimal Classification).
• Knowledge of subject analysis or indexing practices, like the application of controlled vocabularies, descriptors, standardized subject headings, and recognized thesauri, to accurately describe the subject content of publications.
