Tavora Foods (Toronto) Inc. is hiring a Head Cashier in Toronto to oversee a team of cashiers and baggers, ensuring accurate transactions and top customer service. The role involves training staff, scheduling, and resolving customer concerns in a fast-paced supermarket setting.

The Head Cashier will also coordinate with suppliers when needed, manage till operations, and help maintain a clean, efficient front-end environment for a positive shopping experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a supermarket environment.
• Leadership and exceptional customer service skills.
• Able to communicate with customers in a professional manner.
• Able to resolve customer concerns and complaints and handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy.
• Portuguese language an asset.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and provide direction and support to cashiers and baggers.
• Provide training to cashiers on policies and procedures related to point-of-sale system.
• Assign duties to cashiers and baggers and monitor their work daily.
• Prepare work schedules and distribute till allocation.
• Ensure that each customer’s transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure that checkout areas are clean and orderly at all times.
• Close/reconcile cash with receipts at the end of each shift and address discrepancies.
• Deal with suppliers in the owner/manager's absence and support front-end management.
