Job summary

Safeway in Canada is hiring cashiers to provide friendly, professional service and process transactions accurately. You’ll help create a positive, engaging environment that delivers an exceptional shopping experience for our customers.

Key duties include handling the cash drawer, assisting at the Customer Service Desk with lotteries, refunds, bottle returns and inquiries, and supporting other departments as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic numeracy skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service processing transactions to meet customer needs
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer following company policies and procedures
• Operate Customer Service Desk following all procedures for lottery sales, refunds, bottle returns and inquiries
• Maintain Front End Department merchandise
• Participate in the training of junior staff
• Adhere to, and implement all applicable company standards
• Support additional departments and functions with other duties as required
