Job summary

Faber Work in Vancouver, BC is seeking a full-time Lead Carpenter experienced in residential general contracting to lead on-site crews for a range of renovation projects. You will work closely with the owner to supervise site operations, ensuring work meets client specifications and high quality standards.

You will oversee kitchens, bathrooms and bespoke renovations, coordinate with designers and inspectors, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, while maintaining safety

Qualifications

• Experience as a Carpenter or General Contractor on residential renovation projects.
• Ability to coordinate multiple ongoing projects simultaneously.
• Understanding of client expectations in residential renovations.
• Proven ability to lead subcontractors on site.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills.
• Proactive problem-solving to address day-to-day issues.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a full-time Lead Carpenter experienced in residential general contracting to lead on site crews for a wide range of residential renovation projects. You will work closely with the company owner and operator, overseeing site operations for kitchen, bathroom, full home, and bespoke renovation projects, ensuring work is done to client specifications and to a high quality standard.

Responsibilities

• Lead subcontractors and labourers in daily work, ensuring all work is done in a safe and efficient manner
• Provide guidance to crews on proper construction methods and quality standards
• Create project schedules, communication construction timelines to crews and clients
• Communicate with clients in person, build trust with clients that projects will be delivered on schedule, budget, and to a high quality
• Work with the General Contractor to resolve any constructional issues that may arise
• Ensure building inspections are completed periodically throughout the construction phases to ensure work meets client specifications
• Coordinate with designers, engineers, and inspectors, maintain strong relationships with consultants
• Support daily office and project administration

Skills and Requirements

• Experience as a Carpenter or General Contractor on residential renovation projects
• Ability to coordinate with multiple ongoing projects at once
• Understanding of residential renovations clients, how to work with them, and what their expectations will be
• Proven ability to lead subcontractors on site
• Strong organizational and coordination skills
• Ability to find quick solutions and implement them proactively as problems arise day-to-day
