Job summary

Jack Morton Worldwide is seeking an experienced Lead Carpenter to join our Production team in delivering custom exhibits and experiential environments. You will build cabinetry, millwork, structures, and specialty pieces for tradeshows and branded spaces.

You will mentor others, read drawings and CAD plans, and tackle fabrication challenges to turn design concepts into tangible environments. Join a team that values craftsmanship and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional cabinet making, custom millwork, or related trade experience.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret shop drawings and CAD-generated plans.
  • Experience leading projects and mentoring others.
  • Expertise with high-end fabrication and diverse wood products.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, assemble, and finish premium cabinetry, millwork, exhibits, and components.
  • Read shop drawings, blueprints, and CAD plans to guide builds.
  • Lead by example, mentor team members, and assign work based on priorities.
  • Troubleshoot fabrication challenges and ensure on-time delivery.

Jack Morton is looking for an experienced Lead Carpenter – CustomExhibits & ExperientialEventsto join ourProduction team andbuildthe custom environments, cabinetry, millwork, exhibits, and specialty piecesthatbring brands tolife.

This isn't repetitiveproduction work.Every project isdifferent.You'll build one-of-a-kindpieces for tradeshows, branded environments, experiential events, andother high-profileproductions—oftenworking from creativeconcepts that havenever been builtbefore.

You'll bring yourcraftsmanship and technicalexpertise to projectswherethe details matter. And as theLead, you'll havethe opportunity tomentor other craftspeople, solve challengingfabrication problems, andhelp determine thesmartest way toturn a designinto reality.

What You'll Build
  • Custom cabinetry andmillwork
  • Counters, kiosks, anddisplay fixtures
  • Exhibit structures andarchitectural components
  • Specialty scenic andbranded elements
  • Complex customassemblies and one-off pieces
  • High-end finishedcomponents for tradeshows andexperiential environments

You'll take projectsfromdrawing to finishedpiece, using precision woodworkingand fabrication techniquesto create workthat looks great, fits correctly, travelswell, and standsup in alive-event environment.

What You’ll Do
Craftsmanship
  • Fabricate, assemble, andfinishpremium custom cabinetry, millwork, exhibits, andspecialty components
  • Read and interpretshop drawings, CADplans, anddesign specifications
  • Use advanced woodworkingtechniques including precisioncutting, shaping, laminating, joinery, and complexassemblies
  • Work with awide range ofmaterials including plywood, MDF, melamine, laminates, veneers, solid wood, and specialty substrates
  • Inspect your work—and your team'swork for accuracy, quality, durability, andfinish
  • Take ownership ofprojects from fabricationthrough completion
Lead From theShop Floor

This is aworking leadership role. You'll spend yourtime building, solvingproblems, and helping theteam succeed—notsitting behind adesk.

  • Leadby example andset the standardfor craftsmanship
  • Mentor cabinet makersand shop assistants
  • Help assign workbased on projectpriorities, skills, anddeadlines
  • Review work inprogress and providehands-on guidance
  • Troubleshoot difficult fabricationand construction challenges
  • Partner with theShop Foreman, ProductionManager, Project Managers, and Detailing teamto keep projectsmoving
Help Us BuildBetter

We're always lookingfor smarter waysto build.

You'll have avoice in improvingdrawings, fabrication methods, workflow, material usage, andshop efficiency. You'llalso partner withthe Detailing teamto identify potentialissuesbefore they reachthe shop floor.

And, of course, you'll help maintaina shop wherepeople can dogreat work safely.

What You Bring

We're looking foracraftsperson first anda leader second—someone who takesgenuine pride inthe quality ofwhat they build.

You have:

  • 5+ years ofprofessional experiencein cabinet making, custom millwork, finishcarpentry, architecturalwoodworking, or arelated trade
  • Strong experience withhigh-end customfabrication
  • Atleast 1 yearof experience leadingprojects, mentoring others, or serving asa senior craftsperson
  • The ability toconfidently readshop drawings, blueprints, and CAD-generatedplans
  • Advancedskills with woodworkingmachinery, power tools, and shop equipment
  • Experience working witha variety ofwood products, laminates, veneers, and specialtymaterials
  • Excellent problem-solvingskills and anuncompromising eye fordetail
  • The ability tomanage multiple buildsand hit productiondeadlines
  • Flexibility to workovertime when aproject requires it

  • Experience buildingcustom exhibits, tradeshow displays, retailfixtures, or experientialenvironments
