Benjamin Matthew Contracting in Edmonton, AB, is seeking a Carpenter/Supervisor with 5+ years of residential renovation and light commercial experience to lead projects from demolition to finishing.

The role blends hands-on labor (about 70%) with daily project supervision (about 30%) across 3–4 projects valued between $50k and $400k, with opportunities for growth, a culture of professionalism, and a path to broader construction lifecycle responsibilities.

Qualifications

• We’d love you to come with some sort of construction-oriented diploma or trade certification, but we’re open to people from other backgrounds with relevant experience and the right attitude to fit our culture.
• Confident working safely and effectively with both your brain (scheduling, project reporting, and measuring) as well as your hands (Framing, demolition, finishing).
• Enthusiasm, professionalism and punctuality with a willingness to learn new skills and new ideas.
• Able to multi-task; stay organized and prioritize.
• Able to work independently, as well as to contribute to a team environment.
• The ability to work on projects and tasks of various difficulty and duration.
• Communicate clearly and professionally in English with writing and speaking.
• Comfortable with computers including the full MS Office suite of products.
• Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude; able to work effectively in all situations.
• A reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license with a relatively clear driving record.

Responsibilities

• Initial project commencement with the Project Manager through demolition, construction and finishing to finalization.
• Handle residential and light commercial construction/renovation tasks across 3–4 projects.
• Serve as the face of the company to clients, vendors, staff and sub-contractors.
• Balance construction labour (70%) with daily project supervision (30%).
• Develop professional rapport to grow the company’s brand in the Edmonton market.
