Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living in Hamilton, Ontario is seeking a Lead Caregiver to serve as shift leader, providing high-quality resident care while coaching and supporting the caregiving team. You’ll lead shift assignments, monitor resident changes, mentor new staff, and promote safety and compliance, all while modeling professionalism and compassionate service on every shift.

Requires CPR, First Aid and Medication Administration, a high school diploma, and 18+.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED; age 18+.
• CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration certifications.
• Strong communication, delegation, and decision‑making skills.
• Experience in assisted living, memory care, or senior care.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift assignments, manage attendance, and coordinate coverage.
• Provide hands‑on ADL support when needed.
• Coach caregivers on quality, hospitality, and documentation standards.
• Review charting and ensure alignment with Individualized Service Plans (ISP).
• Monitor resident changes and communicate concerns promptly.
• Support onboarding and mentor new team members.
• Promote safety, compliance, and smooth shift transitions. You are both a working caregiver and a frontline leader modeling professionalism, accountability, and compassionate service.
