Job summary

The University of Toronto, at the UC Food Services team (St. George campus), is seeking a Cafeteria Cook. You will cook food in accordance with established recipes and supervise a group of Cafeteria Workers.

• Grade 12 or equivalent; some postsecondary culinary courses desirable.
• Three years of related experience; further education may substitute.
• Ability to communicate in English; lead; physical ability; food safety training completed.

Responsibilities

• Cooks food in accordance with established recipes and menus.
• Prepares vegetables, meats and pastries for cooking.
• Sets out food in appropriate containers to be served, and garnishes.
• Ensures cooking and preparation areas and utensils used are cleaned after use.
• May assist in preparation of menus.
• Instructs Cafeteria Workers in preparation of food.
• Assists in maintaining inventory and ordering supplies.
• Other related duties as required.
