Job summary

The Canadian Opera Company seeks a part-time Patron Services Head Bartender for the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto. You will lead a bartending team during performances and events, delivering exceptional service in a world-class venue.

Shifts are predominantly evenings and weekends with some weekday daytime work; Smart Serve certification and strong bar knowledge are required. Tips are pooled among staff, with some private event shifts paid at CAD 25.42/hour.

Qualifications

• Two years of bartending/beverage service experience in hospitality or venues.
• Smart Serve certification required and relevant bar knowledge.
• Ability to lead, train and motivate a team in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct assigned bartenders; provide training and coaching.
• Balance inventory, sales and cash deposits accurately.
• Receive and respond to patron feedback; de-escalate issues.
• Prepare bar space before guests; manage signs, displays and menus.
• Process transactions via POS; upsell where appropriate.
• Set up pre-orders for intermission; keep glassware stocked.
• Ensure health, safety and alcohol policies are followed.
