Job summary

Momentum Financial Services Group is seeking a Lead Software Engineer, Backend & Cloud Platform to own and operate the Integration Hub—an AWS-based platform connecting internal and external systems. You’ll lead backend services, data pipelines, and production operations while guiding a team through knowledge transfer and operational improvements.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of backend experience, strong AWS expertise, and a track record of leading engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years software engineering experience, backend focus.
• Production systems on AWS (ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS/Postgres) experience.
• Strong DevOps and IaC with Terraform.
• Excellent communication and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small engineering team, prioritizing work.
• Own and evolve backend API services with Node.js/NestJS on AWS ECS.
• Design event-driven patterns with Kafka and Redis.
• Improve CI/CD with GitHub Actions and testing.
• Lead on-call, incident response and RCAs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on requirements and releases.
