Job summary

JLL in Bolton, ON is seeking an Automation Manager to design, develop, and implement automation control systems for industrial processes and warehouse equipment, focusing on reliability and performance of conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, print‑and‑apply systems, and SCADA devices.

You will mentor apprentices, lead projects, troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers, adhere to change management, and collaborate with operations to optimize MHE systems.

Qualifications

2+ years hands-on experience with PLC-controlled automation including Ladder Logic and Structured Text programs.
Proven ability to lead, train, and mentor automation engineers.
Proficiency with CMMS and coordinating maintenance with multiple stakeholders.
Strong English verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, implement, and optimize control systems and software.
Maintain and troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks.
Mentor apprentices to meet safety and technical standards.
Adhere to Automation Change Management procedures.
Collaborate with operations, engineering, and support teams to optimize MHE systems.
Monitor metrics, analyze performance, and lead remote troubleshooting.
Communicate issues, timelines, and workarounds to leadership.
