Job summary

Canadian Defence Lawyers in Toronto is seeking a lawyer with 2-3 years of experience in insurance defence to work closely with a partner on a diverse Tort and Accident Benefits portfolio.

You will draft pleadings and litigation documents, attend examinations for discovery and other proceedings, and maintain case files with careful attention to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in Ontario and in good standing with the LSO.
• 2-3 years of experience in insurance defence, AB, coverage or product liability.
• Ability to draft pleadings and other litigation documents.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

• Collaborate with the Partner, ensuring timely progression and resolution.
• Follow protocols for regular, clear, and timely communication/reporting with clients, keeping them updated on case developments
• Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, mediation briefs, and other litigation documents.
• Handle all matters with attention to detail
• Attend examinations for discovery, mediations, Licence Appeal Tribunal Proceedings, and other litigation events
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and maintain accurate case records.

Lawyer - Insurance Defence

Job Summary

Our insurance defence firm is seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated lawyer, with 2-3 Years of experience in insurance defense. The successful candidate will work closely with a partner on a diverse portfolio of Tort and Accident Benefits files, which may include priority, loss transfer, subrogation, coverage matters and product liability. In this role, you will be required to exercise strong critical thinking and analysis, particularly when reviewing legal documents, collaborating in assessing case strategies, and making decisions that affect the outcome of complex matters. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated lawyer to contribute to an insurance law boutique practice while working alongside a partner and a team of seasoned professionals.

Key Responsibilities
