Law Clerk – Health Law

Are you an experienced Health Law Law Clerk with over 10 years of expertise in the field? Our Client is looking for a senior professional to join their leading firm, offering the chance to work on high-profile litigation cases. In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing complex legal matters, preparing critical documentation, and providing strategic support to the team. Key Responsibilities

  1. Reviewing, summarizing and indexing records
  2. Drafting pleadings, motion records, affidavits of documents, status reports, etc.
  3. Draft reporting letters to clients
  4. Maintaining communication and updates with clients including obtaining documents, responding to inquiries and scheduling meetings
  5. Assisting with regular reporting to clients
  6. Communicating with plaintiffs’ and co-defendants’ counsel to obtain appropriate productions
  7. Managing productions and medicals in Relativity
  8. Summarizing medicals into a medical chronology
  9. Analyzing and summarizing other productions
  10. Ensuring files are prepared for Examinations for Discovery
  11. Identifying appropriate experts, and retaining and communicating with them
  12. Reviewing discovery transcripts and following up for and tracking undertakings
  13. Preparing for trials and hearings
  14. Managing electronic hearings and trials
  15. Maintaining the electronic Bring Forward database and managing client milestone reporting
  16. Drafting closing documents including draft orders, consents, and releases
  17. Arranging surveillance
  18. Maintaining files

Qualifications

  1. 10+ years of experience as a litigation Law Clerk, with a preference for experience in Health Law
  2. Initiative and drive to move files forward
  3. Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail
  4. Excellent communication skills
  5. Emphasis on delivering a high level of professional service to clients
  6. A keen ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced team
  7. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  8. Experience using Relativity, Document Management Systems and ACL would be an asset
