Overview

Our client, a growing litigation-focused law firm, is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Law Clerk to join their legal team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring files move forward efficiently while maintaining a professional and supportive experience for clients.

This is an on-site position, located in Downtown Toronto.

Responsibilities
  • Manage client communications and follow up on required documents.
  • Schedule meetings and coordinate calendars.
  • Open, manage, and close legal files in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Prepare and file court documents, including pleadings, affidavits, motion records, and briefs.
  • Track deadlines and manage case schedules using case management software.
  • Conduct legal research and summarize findings as required.
  • Assist with preparing materials for hearings and trials, and manage undertakings and discovery deadlines.
  • Maintain electronic and physical file organization.
  • Provide support to the legal team and junior staff, contributing to process improvements and administrative tasks.
Qualifications
  • Law Clerk diploma or equivalent experience in a litigation-focused environment.
  • 2+ years of experience in a law firm or legal setting preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of court rules and filing procedures (Ontario preferred).
  • Proficiency in legal software (Clio preferred), Microsoft Office, and Adobe.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management abilities.
