Job summary

Element by Westin Calgary Downtown is seeking a reliable Laundry Attendant to manage washing, drying and folding of hotel linens to brand standards. You will use cleaning chemicals safely and maintain laundry equipment, inventory, and storage areas while supporting guest service needs.

Candidates should have at least one year in a hotel or similar operation, good English communication, a positive attitude, and the ability to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays. WHMIS knowledge helpful.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in a similar operation or hotel environment.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Wash, dry and fold all hotel linens and towels.
• Properly use soaps, chemicals, and equipment for cleaning linen and towels.
• Clean laundry equipment, vent screens, drain traps and lint filters.
• Maintain and rotate a supply of clean linen and towels.
• Assist in linen and towel inventory.
• Keep laundry area and storage areas clean and organized.
• Expedite delivery of linen and items to Room Attendants.
• Assist with room cleaning when needed.

WHO are we looking for, you may ask?

We are in search of a reliable and efficient Laundry Attendant, responsible for the washing, drying, and folding of all terry and linens for the hotel according to brand and company standards.

Key accountabilities include:

• Always provide the highest quality of service to our guests and associates alike.
• Wash, dry and fold all hotel linens and towels.
• Properly use all soaps, chemicals, and equipment for cleaning linen and towels.
• Clean laundry equipment, vent screens, drain traps and lint filters.
• Maintain and rotate a supply of clean linen and towels.
• Assist in the monthly linen and towel inventory.
• Keep the laundry area and storage areas clean and organized.
• Expedite the delivery of linen and requested suite items to the Room Attendants.
• Clean rooms when needed or as requested.
• Accommodate guest special requests courteously.
• Notify Manager of any problems with linens or equipment.
• Have thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
• Practice safety standards at all times, leading by example.
• An experienced professional with a minimum of one year of experience in a similar operation or hotel environment.
• Someone with good communication skills, proficient in the English language.
• Someone with a positive attitude.
• Someone who places priority on providing guests with the best possible experiences, going above and beyond to ensure total satisfaction and guest loyalty.
• Able to work with a variety of chemicals and cleaning supplies.
• Someone with good understanding of WHMIS.
• Able to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Physically able to bend, lift, push, crouch, stand and walk for extended periods of time, as well as able to lift or carry up to 30 lbs.
