Job summary

Concord Hospitality is seeking a Laundry Attendant for the Element by Westin Calgary Downtown. You will wash, dry and fold hotel linens and towels according to brand standards, keeping equipment and work areas clean and organized.

We require at least one year of hotel experience, strong English communication, a positive attitude, and the ability to lift up to 30 lbs. Shifts include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays; WHMIS knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in a hotel or similar operation.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Positive attitude and guest-focused approach.
• Able to work with cleaning chemicals and understand WHMIS.
• Able to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Physically able to bend, lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Wash, dry and fold hotel linens and towels to brand standards.
• Operate cleaning equipment and manage supplies safely.
• Maintain clean laundry area and assist in inventory.
• Expedite linen deliveries to room attendants and assist as needed.
• Assist with room cleaning when required and accommodate guest requests.
• Report equipment issues and follow safety procedures.

WHO are we looking for, you may ask?

We are in search of a reliable and efficient Laundry Attendant, responsible for the washing, drying, and folding of all terry and linens for the hotel according to brand and company standards.

• Always provide the highest quality of service to our guests and associates alike.
• Wash, dry and fold all hotel linens and towels.
• Properly use all soaps, chemicals, and equipment for cleaning linen and towels.
• Clean laundry equipment, vent screens, drain traps and lint filters.
• Maintain and rotate a supply of clean linen and towels.
• Assist in the monthly linen and towel inventory.
• Keep the laundry area and storage areas clean and organized.
• Expedite the delivery of linen and requested suite items to the Room Attendants.
• Clean rooms when needed or as requested.
• Accommodate guest special requests courteously.
• Notify Manager of any problems with linens or equipment.
• Have thorough knowledge of emergency procedures.
• Practice safety standards at all times, leading by example.

• An experienced professional with a minimum of one year of experience in a similar operation or hotel environment.
• Someone with good communication skills, proficient in the English language.

• Someone who places priority on providing guests with the best possible experiences, going above and beyond to ensure total satisfaction and guest loyalty.
• Able to work with a variety of chemicals and cleaning supplies.
• Someone with good understanding of WHMIS.
• Able to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Physically able to bend, lift, push, crouch, stand and walk for extended periods of time, as well as able to lift or carry up to 30 lbs.
