AgeCare is seeking a Laundry Aide to support residents by handling laundry duties and maintaining a safe, clean environment. The role involves sorting, operating laundry equipment, folding and mending as needed, and transporting garments to designated areas.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a laundry operation is preferred.
• Must understand the basics of good laundry techniques/practices.
• A minimum of public-school education is required. Grade 12 Diploma preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and follow oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Sorts and separates items to be laundered in accordance with laundering requirements.
• Operates automatic washing machines, dryers, irons and sewing machine.
• Hand irons and folds/hangs garments after laundering.
• Performs simple mending and repairs.
• Transports laundered garments to appropriate floors.
• Ensures proper identification of all personal clothing.
• Maintains a clean work environment, dusting and washing equipment and shelves as required.
• Maintains appropriate level of supplies (e.g. soap, bleach, fabric softener and thread).
• Cleans work area upon completion of shift.
