Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Laundry Aide to support residents in long‑term care by laundering and caring for garments in a respectful, person-centred environment. You will operate washers, dryers, irons and a sewing machine, sort items and maintain clean, organized work areas.

The role requires basic laundry techniques, reading and following instructions, and a Grade 12 diploma is preferred. The hourly wage is $20.71, with pay based on qualifications and experience. Hamilton, Ontario.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a laundry operation is preferred.
• Basics of good laundry techniques/practices required.
• Grade 12 Diploma preferred; read and follow oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Sorts and separates items to be laundered in accordance with laundering requirements.
• Operates automatic washing machines, dryers, irons and sewing machine.
• Hand irons and folds/hangs garments after laundering.
• Transports laundered garments to appropriate floors.
• Maintains appropriate level of supplies (e.g. soap, bleach, fabric softener and thread).
• Cleans work area upon completion of shift.
