Job summary

AgeCare in Toronto, Ontario is seeking a Laundry Aide to support residents by laundering garments and maintaining a clean, safe environment across the facility.

You will sort, operate washing machines and dryers, hand-iron and fold, perform basic mending, and transport laundered items to the correct floors while ensuring proper identification and stock of supplies.

Qualifications

• Experience in laundry operations preferred.
• Basics of good laundry techniques/practices.
• Grade 12 diploma preferred.

The Laundry Aide assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and other staff members.What Is In It For You:• Sorts and separates items to be laundered in accordance with laundering requirements.• Operates automatic washing machines, dryers, irons and sewing machine.• Hand irons and folds/hangs garments after laundering.• Performs simple mending and repairs.• Transports laundered garments to appropriate floors.• Ensures proper identification of all personal clothing.• Maintains a clean work environment, dusting and washing equipment and shelves as required.• Maintains appropriate level of supplies (e.g. soap, bleach, fabric softener and thread).• Cleans work area upon completion of shift.What You Will Need:• Previous experience in a laundry operation is preferred.• Must understand the basics of good laundry techniques/practices.• A minimum of public-school education is required.
